some far reaching recommendations such as
Recommendation 9
There is insufficient cultural, ethical and spiritual reasons to prohibit the use of preimplantation
genetic diagnosis for sex selection for social reasons such as ‘family balancing’.

  1. Yes, it’s generated a lot of press here in the last week – though most of it is above the sex-selection element of the report, and not some of the deeper questions it raises about what kind of values underpin the report.
